Dr. Mukti Acharya
Prof. Mukti Acharya, born November 30, 1948 at Badhani Kalan, District Ferozepur (now Moga), Punjab, is a Professor of Mathematics at the Delhi Technological University and specializes in Graph Theory. Her main contributions are in Sigraphs, Graph Spectra, Graph Labelings and Petri Nets.
She completed her M.Sc. (Mathematics)
from PFU, Moscow in 1974 and went on to do her Ph.D. in Mathematics from
IIT, Bombay, in 1982. She was appointed as a Visiting Scientist at Mehta Research Institute, now Harishchandra Research Institute), at Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India. She joined IIT, Delhi, Department of Mathematics as a CSIR Pool Officer (1986-88) and then as a Lecturer in NCERT, Delhi (1988-94). In 1994 she joined Delhi College of Engineering, now Delhi Technological University, as an Assistant Professor (1994-2002). She was appointed as a Professor in 2002 and later headed the Department of Mathematics at the same University till 2013. She currently works as an Independent Researcher and has several visiting faculty positions. |
